Happy Father’s Day to my mom, who did it all for her two girls, including making sure we had great male role models in the forms of her father and brother, even though she didn’t get along too well with them. She hid her feelings about our father so as not to taint our relationship with him until we were old enough to make decisions about spending time with him. She worked hard and did without so we would have what we needed. She got lost along the way, but she has been sober a year and a half now and is an AMAZING woman.

To the other single moms out there: it may get tough, but one day, your children will weep with the love and admiration they have for you. Keep up the good work, and Happy Father’s Day!
